The Management for International Public Health (MIPH) Program is based on a set of public health mangement competencies (as listed below) that focuses on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors needed to manage public health teams, programs, and organizations.

Core Competencies:

Conflict Management

This highly interactive course uses examples from participants' experiences to explore tools to resolve conflicts and prevent them from occurring to begin with.

When participants complete this session they will be able to:

  •  Identify common causes of conflict
  • Recognize conflicting priorities within a work team
  • Use productive strategies to resolve conflict
  • Describe ways to prevent conflict

This course includes a participant workbook, facilitators guide and PowerPoint presentation.

Team Building

This highly interactive class provides practical methods for working effectively in a team and avoiding negative behaviors. It is designed to be adaptable to local cultures.
