Outbreak of Gastroenteritis caused by Contaminated Well Water in a Village: Henan Province, July 2010

Background: On July 31, 2010, a village in Henan Province reported more than 20 persons with gastroenteritis. To identify the cause of this outbreak and recommend control measures, we investigated this outbreak.

Contaminated stream water causes cholera in a village of hilly area -Kalahandi, Eastern India, 2009

Background: In August, 2009 a cluster of diarrhoea cases was reported in a rural hilly village of Kalahandi, Orissa, Eastern India. We investigated the cluster to identify risk factors and propose recommendations.

Contaminated school water led to diarrhoeal outbreak among Primary School children in Parsha village, District Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India, 2009.

Background: Diarrhoeal outbreaks are uncommon in Himachal Pradesh. Nevertheless media reported a few cases of diarrhoeaamong school children in village Parsha, district Kullu on, 28th May, 2009. We suspected an outbreak and investigated to identify the etiological agent, exposure and propose control measures.
