Has the term "capacity building" lost its meaning?

 

If you looked up the term capacity building, you would get several different definitions.  Because of this, some people believe the definitions of the term capacity building are too broad and are being used primiarly to focus on training.

Course Schedule (MIPH)

 

  What is on the MIPH agenda?

Participants in the two-week interactive MIPH program will develop and enhance skills in:
• Project Management
• Performance Management
• Team Building
• Coaching and Mentoring
• Process Improvement

 

 

Training of Trainers (TOT)

 

Training-of-Trainers (TOT) -- Optional component

 

The TOT is for managers whose job responsibilities also involve training.  Those who are interested in teaching leadership and management capacity building to others are encouraged to attend the 2-day TOT.  Participants of the TOT practice teaching the MIPH concepts and tools. They receive feedback and mentoring from other participants and CDC master trainers.

 

 

Course Details (Cost)

 

How much does it cost to attend the MIPH program?

 

 Each MIPH participant will pay $2,500 to cover registration fees, program materials and meals for the respective programs. Airfare, lodging, and per diem are not included in the registration fees and should be covered by the participant’s funding source.  Applications are now being accepted online, click here to start.

 

Who Should Attend the MIPH Program?

 Participants should be managers who are:

  • Responsible for developing and managing a health systems strengthening priorities identified by senior health  leaders
  • Experienced managers or supervisors with at least two years  managerial experience
  • Committed to improving the managerial skills and competencies
  • Able to actively engage in a participative 2-week course conducted in English
