MALARIA INFECTION IN PRAGNAN AS A RISK FACTOR THE INCIDENCE OF LOW BIRT WEIGHT IN KAPUAS CENTRAL OF KALIMANTAN, INDONESIA

ABSTRACT

Background: Malaria is a major health problem in Indonesia. Kapuas is one of 338 malaria endemic distric in Indonesia with clinical malaria rate 51.87% and positive malaria rate 9.46% in 2008. Pregnant mothers are the major group at risk for malaria infection. Malaria infection during pregnancy contributes to maternal morbidity and low birth weight.
