Background: More than a third of women in Kenya suffer Domestic Violence (DV), in their life time resulting in higher rates of unintended pregnancies, abor¬tions, adverse pregnancies, neonatal and infant outcomes and mental disorders. This study was carried out to determine the prevalence and factors associated with DV among women seeking antenatal care (ANC) in Kisumu District Hospital (KDH).

Prevalence and Associated Factors for Peripheral Neuropathy among Patients on Stavudine attending Meru District Hospital Comprehensive Care Centre—Kenya, 2010.

BACKGROUND: Peripheral neuropathy has been recognized as one of the undesired side effects of antiretroviral therapy particularly nucleoside transcriptase inhibitors (NRTI) .Stavudine a NRTI is used widely to manage HIV/AIDS in Kenya. Following a WHO recommendation that stavudine use be discontinued, health authorities sought information on the local magnitude of the problem to guide policy change. We determined the prevalence and associated factors for peripheral neuropathy among patients on stavudine attending Meru District Hospital Comprehensive Care Centre.

Background: Hypertension (HT) is a major public health concern with increasing prevalence in EMRO, where Iraq had the highest prevalence. Studies on HT are a basis for rational planning of health policy. The objective of this study is to estimate the prevalence undetected, untreated and uncontrolled HT among adult population in Nasisriya city/ Iraq.

Prevalence and factors associated with overweight and obesity among children aged 6-10 years in Mandi Town, District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India

Background: Overweight and obesity are major global health problem. Studies of urban children in Delhi and Chennai reported prevalence of obesity to be 7.2% and 6.2%. Prevalence of obesity among under five children was 2.3% in rural area of the district Mandi. We estimated the prevalence and factors associated of overweight and obesity among children aged 6-10 years.

Background: Increased prevalence of obesity in children has serious short and long term consequences The objective of this study was to study the prevalence and characteristics of obese children (OC) under 9 years in Costa Rica`s Social Security (CCSS), during 2009. Children who consult the CCSS represent 56.1% of all children nationwide.
