Surveillance for Yellow Fever following an Outbreak in Northern Uganda, November 2010

Background: Two deaths from an unknown hemorrhagic disease were reported in Northern Uganda on 22nd October 2010. A multi-disciplinary team led by Ministry of Health set out to investigate the outbreak.

Pandemic Influenza A H1N1 Outbreak in Bushenyi District, Western Uganda, 2009

Background The Pandemic Influenza A H1N1 virus was first detected in April 2009. It is associated with sustained human to human transmission mainly through droplets. On 18 September 2009, a suspected H1N1 outbreak was reported in Kitabi Seminary School in Bushenyi district in Western Uganda. Objective of the investigation: To confirm the outbreak, identify the causative agent, describe and manage the outbreak.
